What to use
- Lint-free or microfiber cloths
- Ethanol or isopropyl alcohol of at least 70% concentration
- Glass cleaner, for the platen glass only
- Disposable gloves
Steps
- Turn the device off and unplug it.
- Put on disposable gloves.
- Apply alcohol to a cloth. Don’t spray anything directly onto the device.
- Wipe the control panel, covers, handles and jam areas.
- Clean the platen glass with glass cleaner on a lint-free cloth.
- Let all surfaces dry completely before you plug the device in and turn it on.
- Throw away the gloves and cloths.
Safety
- Alcohol is flammable. Never use it near fire or an open flame.
- Don’t use cleaners with volatile solvents, such as paint thinner or benzene.
- Store and use alcohol carefully, and follow the instructions and warnings on the product.
